Jim and Phil.

A Google Earth view of the island.

Jim, G3RTE and I will be QRV from Christmas Island as VK9X/G6AY between 20th and 27th February 2010. Christmas Island counts as OC-002 for IOTA purposes. The 2008 "Most Wanted" survey by the DX Magazine shows Christmas Island at #66 worldwide for DXCC purposes. Our activity will be on CW only on all bands 80-10 meters. There will be no 160 metre activity.

Propagation permitting, we plan to have two stations on the air for as many hours every day as is possible and the main objective is to work as many European, North American and ROTW stations on as many bands as possible.

Logs will be uploaded to LoTW within six months of returning home.

We will be staying at "The Sunset", located on the most northerly part of the island with an almost uninterrupted take off over 180 degrees and using 100 watt transceivers with wire antennas on the top of the cliff.

"The Sunset" has a WiFi facility and we expect to be able to upload our logs to this page at least once per day.
