Between August 1968 and April 1969 I was the Radio Officer in ss Ottawa, a 93,000 ton deadweight, crude oil tanker operated by Trident Tankers Limited. Her commercial callsign was GNDU. I was one of the first maritime mobile stations to operate from a British merchant ship and made what is claimed to be the first QSO between amateur stations on British merchant ships with G3RSP/MM in January 1969.

The log for my operations from ss Ottawa between 30th August 1968 and 18th January 1969 is on paper and has not been uploaded to the ARRL's Logbook of the World or Club Log. All QSOs were QSLd via the bureau.
